James Apgar

      James Apgar is a hillclimb-time attack driver who honed his skills in the competitive North East Scca Philadelphia Region.  

    ◦    Racing various Vw mk2-mk3 chassis vehicles in autox for 13 years in the north east before taking to the hills with the Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association in 2019 with a modified vw mk2 powered by a 2.1 aba he built in his garage before the covid shut down.   Since racing has resumed in 2021 James has placed 3rd at the 2021 pagoda hillclimb in reading pa, earned a 3rd place at 2021 weatherly pa hillclimb, As well as a 2nd place at 2022 Polish mountain hillclimb in Flintstone md.

    ◦    James also competes in skoda kart racing and as a 24hrs of lemons competitor.

    ◦    James’s hillclimb car is a 1990 vw Jetta eco diesel he converted from diesel to petrol, its gas powered 2.1l aba with 9.6:1 JE pistons, H beam rods, and balanced rotating assembly.

The cylinder head is a custom job from hoops performance cylinder heads in Easton pa.

Turbo is a pte 5858 .63 gen 3 set up in antisurge configuration.
